Chucky’s Playing Dirty With Woody

The new Child’s Play poster took direct aim at Toy Story 4 and damn, the results are brutal. These films share more than just a kid named Andy getting a new toy for his birthday. Their mutual June 21st release date puts them in direct competition and Chucky’s proving that he’s here to PLAY!

The 2019 reboot of the 1988 horror film stars Gabriel Bateman as the not-so-fortunate Andy and features Mark Hamill as the voice of Chucky. Hamill himself (oh so that’s where the handle came from) took to Twitter to share the jab at one of history’s most lovable sheriffs.

I’ll admit, the new trailer is creepy AF, even more than the original movie which scared the crap out of me when I first saw it. I mean, who the hell thought it would be okay to link toys to technology that can CONTROL EVERYTHING??? HOW WAS THAT A GOOD IDEA??

I wouldn’t totally write off Woody that easily though. He’s been known to put the naughty ones in check with his own brand of horror and we all know how that worked out for Sid.

I guess we’ll see who rules the toy box in June.
