This Is Halloween
40 years after the first battle, Jamie Lee Curtis, one of the worlds favorite scream queens, returns as Laurie Strode. In the new Halloween she is once again hunted by and forced to fight with the indestructible Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she was a teen. This time however, she is heavily armed, sometimes seeming a bit like Sarah Conner from Terminator 2. In addition to the upgraded Ms. Strode the trailer is full of throwback shots, the cemetery, the trick or treaters, and even the sheets drying on the line, we hope the movie is just as nostalgic. The plot is supposed to follow the trajectory of the original story and ignore all the sequels and remakes.
The film is inspired by John Carpenter’s classic and has Carpenter himself as the executive producer and creative consultant. Co-producer Jason Blum is the man behind more recent horror classics like Get Out, Split, The Purge, and Paranormal Activity.
Universal Pictures Halloween is set for release on Friday, October 19, 2018.
